Japan Provides US$97,435 for Two School Buildings


The Government of Japan is providing US$97,435 to the Life With Dignity NGO to construct two school buildings at Anheases Primary School and Piem Primary School in Thpong District in Kampong Speu Province.
The grant contract was signed on Feb 20 between Kawamura Hiroshi, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Japanese Embassy in Cambodia, and Sam Inn, Executive Director of Life With Dignity at the Japanese Embassy in Phnom Penh.
Education and human resources development are the foundation for the future development of Cambodia, Hiroshi said. The grant assistance to Life With Dignity is to construct four- and five-room concrete school buildings and to improve the sanitation facilities for Anheases Primary and Piem Primary schools.
The Thpong District has seven villages consisting of 56,352 people, including 16,630 children and teens aged from 6-17, according to the National Committee for Sub-National Democratic Development.
